User Testing ~

Design interface for interactive storybook.

Tsukuyomi lived in the heavens with his sister Amaterasu, the Sun Goddess. Tsukuyomi angered Amaterasu when he killed Uke Mochi, the goddess of food. Amaterasu once sent Tsukuyomi to represent her at a feast presented by Uke Mochi. The Goddess made the food by turning to the ocean and spitting out a fish, then facing the forest and game came out of her mouth, and finally turned to a rice paddy and coughed up a bowl of rice. Tsukuyomi was utterly disgusted by the fact that, although it looked exquisite, the meal was made in a disgusting manner, and so he killed her.

Soon, Amaterasu learned what happened and she was so angry that she refused to ever look at Tsukuyomi again, forever moving to another part of the sky. This is the reason that day and night are never together.

Please help me by leaving comment about the interface design. Any comment will be appreciated and thanks in advance for doing the user testing. Cheers ~

1. What do you think of the characters design ?
A. Suitable - they're really cute. I think Amaterasu being the sun goddess had REALLY kua cheong clothes when she was illustrated in those old Japanese textbooks though - so maybe you could add some red or bright patterns to her design if you'd like. But Ukemochi's design is great. Hee hee.

2. Are the fonts readable ? Can't view your enlarged version. :P But suffice it to say that I think your fonts should be alright, form what I can see.

3. Do you find the vector style interesting for children's interactive storybook ?
A. Yep. It's very suitable. Colours aren't flat - they're just right. It's cute and appealing to children IMHO.

4. What do you think of the art direction of the design ?
Mature - you know what you're doing. Everything blends well.

5. Would you like to visit the website again ?
For the design, definitely! Probably not for the story - but I might invite others to come and look at it.

6. Is the visual and elements strong enough to potray a Japanese folklore ?
The trees, colour, background, and outfits are quite effective - and your navigation menu with the fish balloons does portray the Japanese influences well. Huhuh.

Looking forward to your final work with the layer, lol. XD

3. [b] there is always spaces for improvement
4. chibi
5. yeah
6. the loading page is kinda empty. and by the way i think the loading percentage can be sorted a bit. can't really know which % should I look at, I mean at a quick glance. my suggestion is you may put more spaces in between the percentage, would be better i suppose.

yeah that's it. nice work.

1. What do you think of the characters design ?
a. Suitable, chibi, kawaii

2. Are the fonts readable ?
a. Yes, good choice for your atmosphere but can be improved.

like for the link/navigation text, maybe you can use the japanese-like font...u know, the ones like linkin park use...its abc but written like japanese character... maybe you can look into that. search in dafont.com for japanese like type

3. Do you find the vector style interesting for children's interactive storybook ?
b. Can be more interesting
children like animals and moving graphics. food vibrate, things like that

4. What do you think of the art direction of the design ?
interactive, looks fun, well organized

5. Would you like to visit the website again ?
sure, i wanna see the loading page the most XD

6. Is the visual and elements strong enough to potray a Japanese folklore ?
yes u got everything in tact. just improve on certain graphic sizes... like the food. the table looked so empty, i didnt notice there were food at first. make the food bigger perhaps, it'll look cute.

7/ OVERALL
your character actually blends in with the BG color. try to make the charac the focus by adding more tone to it. dont make it look as light as the BG. Seeing everything in harmonious tone make things plain.

Let the charac have more focus since they're the main objects.

Awesome job^^
